Decadent Choc Orange Mud Cake

You will need:

  • 600 pkt Betty Crocker® Decadent Chocolate Mud Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup boiling water
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • grated rind of 2 small oranges
  • orange rind curls, to serve

Follow these basic steps

  1. Preheat oven for 10 minutes at 160°C/300°C (140°C fan-forced oven). Grease a 20cm x 5cm round cake pan with oil or cooking spray. Line the base with baking paper.
  2. Sitr Cake Mix, oil and boiling water in a medium bowl until chocolate is almost melted. Add eggs and stir until combined. Pour into pan and gently smooth top.
  3. Bake for 55-60 minutes until top springs back when lightly touched in the centre or skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes; gently remove cake from pan. Remove paper and cool on a wire rack.
  4. Frost cold cake with Ready-to-Spread Chocolate Frosting and top with orange rind curls,
